Economic Growth
If the economy is strong, we will have good paying jobs and pay less income and sales tax. I am dedicated to supporting a strong economic development strategy by our legislature.

I will avoid excessive government regulation that can strangle business and stifle job creation. I will promote Utah’s high-educated workforce and quality of life to attract high-paying jobs.

Accomplishments of the 56 and 57 Utah State Legislatures
• Approved $22.5 million in tax incentives to attract new businesses and jobs to Utah
• Authorized an additional $14 million in targeted job creation initiatives
• Provided $39 million to promote Utah as a tourist destination
• Appropriated $11.5 million to draw motion picture productions like High School Musical to Utah
• Allocated $200 million to support basic research of notable scientists like Nobel Laureate Mario Capecchi through the USTAR program
